Choose a short-link domain for your brand
Compare shared Premium domains with a subdomain you own, then choose the right address for your next link.
Shared domain or your own subdomain?
A short link has two parts: the hostname before the slash and the short code after it. Choosing a domain changes the address people see; it does not give you ownership of that domain.
- Free account
- Create links on 1shorturl.com and manage them from your account.
- Premium shared domains
- Choose from 9 additional service domains. Other members can use the same hostnames; these domains are not exclusive to your business.
- Premium Plus customer subdomain
- Connect one subdomain you own, such as
go.yourcompany.com, exclusively assigned to your account. Domain registration is separate.

Connect your own subdomain with Premium Plus
Choose an unused subdomain. Do not overwrite DNS records used by your main website or email. You can keep your current DNS provider.
- Open Settings and find Your own short-link subdomain.
- Enter a subdomain you control, such as
go.yourcompany.com, and choose Set up my subdomain. - At your DNS provider, add the exact TXT ownership record and CNAME target shown in your account. Use your account’s values, not a record copied from someone else’s setup.
- If the provider offers proxying, choose DNS only. Keep both records in place. Use the TTL advice shown in Settings; TTL is not a promised activation time.
- Choose Check setup. Wait until both the domain and HTTPS certificate are active.
- Choose Use this as my default and shorten a link, then create and test your first link.
Renewing the domain and maintaining its DNS remain your responsibility. Connecting a subdomain does not transfer ownership to 1shorturl.
Domain changes and troubleshooting
My subdomain is waiting for verification
Compare its TXT name, TXT value and CNAME target with Settings. Some DNS providers expect only the portion before the root domain in the Name field. Avoid duplicate records. Save changes, allow DNS time to propagate and choose Check setup again.
DNS is verified, but HTTPS is still pending
Certificate readiness can follow DNS verification. Keep the records in place and check again later. If it remains pending, contact support with the subdomain and the status shown in Settings.
Will changing my default move existing links?
No. The default applies to new links. Existing links retain their original hostname and short code. Keep sharing the original address for an existing link.
What happens if I cancel or downgrade?
Existing shared-domain links retain their addresses. New links must use the domains available under your current plan. Customer-subdomain links remain assigned to your account and can keep working while domain ownership, DNS and readiness requirements continue to be met. A paused, expired or blocked link can still be unavailable.
